I'm proud of my record during the last four years as your Council Member for the City of Los Altos. I have worked to preserve Los Altos’ neighborhood residential character; implemented traffic and speeding solutions; and maintained balanced budgets through prudent fiscal policies.

I have a proven record of leadership in guiding our Community through difficult decisions. Since announcing my Re-Election Campaign, I have been fortunate to receive endorsements from community leaders, volunteers, and families like yours throughout Los Altos.

As you may recall, four years ago I committed to work on accomplishing the following:

· Maintain a balanced budget, while also building up our reserves
· Improve public safety, including traffic enforcement in
residential areas
· Clarify and improve existing building design guidelines
· Improve neighborhood notification in advance of major decisions
· Encourage the implementation of reasonable traffic calming measures
· Develop and implement a sensible plan for park and facility renovations
· Cooperate with schools for mutual community benefit
· Support economic vitality of our business districts
· Preserve the residential character of our town

I have honored these commitments. While some points received more attention than others, it was important to ensure that I strived to deliver what I said I would. These goals remain my focus, and my commitment to you.

In addition to my continued focus, there remain significant decisions over the next four years:

· Civic and Community Center Improvements
· Renovation of Redwood Grove, Grant Park facilities and the Garden House
· Completion of the Rosita Park Improvements
· Waste Management and Sewer Improvements
· Contract negotiations

With 19 years of business and finance management experience, along with my extensive community involvement, my focus will continue to include advocating fiscal accountability in city operations.

For the next four years, my priorities will be:

· City Finances
· Safer Streets
· Maintaining our Residential Character
· Community Facilities and Resources
· Downtown Revitalization
· Vibrant Business Districts

As you know, Los Altos is a great place to raise a family, be a part of a fantastic Community, and cherish the lives we have. The individuals chosen to represent our Community on the Council in November will have a profound impact on the direction our Community takes over the next four years.

My commitment is that I will continue to address the issues facing Los Altos with leadership, integrity, and complete openness to the public. Clearly, there is still work to accomplish, and it will be my honor to represent you for another four years as your Council Member.
